PE/Health

Health and Physical Education program provides students from Kindergarten to Year 10 with opportunities to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to lead active, healthy, and balanced lives.

Students participate in a wide range of physical activities and classroom-based health learning experiences designed to support physical fitness, teamwork, resilience, personal wellbeing, and positive relationships. Learning programs are developmentally appropriate and encourage students to challenge themselves, work collaboratively, and build lifelong healthy habits.

Early Childhood (Kindergarten – Year 2)

Students develop fundamental movement skills through games, play-based activities, dance, athletics, and cooperative challenges. In-class Health education focuses on personal safety, emotions, friendships, healthy eating, hygiene, and developing confidence and independence.

Primary Years (Years 3 – 6)

Students extend their movement skills and participate in team sports, athletics, swimming, fitness activities, and outdoor games. Classroom Health lessons explore nutrition, mental health and wellbeing, respectful relationships, personal identity, cybersafe, and strategies for making safe and informed decisions.

Secondary Years (Years 7 – 10)

Students participate in a broad range of sport and recreation activities including team sports, fitness training, outdoor education, athletics, and skill-based games. In-class Health education focuses on physical, social, and emotional wellbeing, resilience, respectful relationships, mental health, substance awareness, personal development, and developing the skills to make positive life choices.

Carnivals, Swimming and Interschool Sport

Across all year levels, students participate in annual Athletics, Cross Country, and Swimming Carnivals, promoting school spirit, participation, and healthy competition. Students from Years 1–10 also have opportunities to represent the school in interschool sporting competitions and events throughout the year.

Annual swimming lessons are provided to support the development of water safety awareness, swimming competence, and confidence in aquatic environments, recognising the importance of these skills within our coastal community.
